Indications for malleolus protectors for skiing
No more malleolus pain ruining your activities… Enjoy fully and stay performing thanks to EPITACT® ski malleolus protectors!
EPITACT® malleolus protectors prevent and relieve chafing and pain on the malleolus at pressure points inside high-top shoes.
They are therefore very effective in shoes used for sliding sports (skiing, snowboarding, hockey, rollerblading, skating, mountaineering, etc.).
How do they work?
All their effectiveness relies on EPITELIUMTACT 04, a cushioning silicone gel with excellent ability to reduce friction and pressure on the skin.
Self-adhesive, it ensures optimal hold of the protectors throughout the activity. These malleolus protectors are very thin (2 mm); they cause no discomfort and are unnoticeable in all types of high-top shoes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do some shoes cause pain around the malleolus?
Pain around the malleolus often occurs in high-top shoes with a rigid outer shell (ski boots, rollerblades, skates, etc.). This type of shoe can cause painful pressure against bony protrusions on the sides and top of the ankle (malleoli, navicular bones), especially if the fastenings are too tight or the shoe size is too small or too large.
How many times can ski malleolus protectors be washed and reused?
Silicone malleolus protectors withstand about thirty washes without losing their properties. It is recommended to wash them after each use to maintain their self-adhesive power by removing any dust and impurities. Cleaning their surface restores their original stickiness.
Can sports malleolus protectors cause allergies?
Gels used directly on the skin must be fully biocompatible. EPITACT® gels are medical grade to minimize the risk of skin intolerance. Additionally, ski malleolus protectors are made from silicone, and allergies to this material are extremely rare.
