The patent for EPITHELIUM 26® silicone gel
Tested and validated in the laboratory, EPITHELIUM 26® is a silicone gel capable of distributing pressure and absorbing friction on the skin. It is patented as a "true substitute for human plantar padding".
Indeed, it has the same physical, mechanical, and viscoelastic characteristics as plantar padding. The Comfortact™ Plus pads therefore compensate for the failure of this subcutaneous tissue and effectively relieve hyperpressure under the forefoot.
Usage tips for Comfortact™ Plus pads
- Wash the metatarsal pads before the first use and after each use.
- For optimal comfort, wear them directly on the skin (except on an unprotected wound) under a stocking, tights, or sock.
Contraindications for EPITACT® pads
- Do not use metatarsal pads on a skin lesion.
- In cases of individuals with diabetes, arteritis, polyneuropathy, lower limb neuropathy, or varicose ulcers: consult your doctor or podiatrist, and then monitor your foot during use. The strap may be a source of friction between the two toes. Therefore, it is recommended that diabetics suffering from neuropathy avoid this solution.

The Comfortact™ Plus metatarsal pads are machine washable at 30 °C or hand wash (without scrubbing) with water and soap. No bleaching. No ironing or steam. No tumble drying. No dry cleaning. Discard and replace the pads as soon as signs of fabric or seam degradation appear.

This area of hard, yellowish skin is called a callus.
