Patented technology
Combined with an ultrafine elastic fabric, the patented silicone EPITHELIUM FLEX™ tendon provides sufficient lateral traction on the big toe to straighten it.
Usage tips
- Check that your toe is still laterally mobile.
- Wash the orthosis before the 1st use.
- The level of correction is adjustable by varying the tension of the tendon on your foot: on the first day, do not attempt to correct the big toe. Then, for 10 days, gradually correct the deviation by pulling the device backward.
- The device should be worn daily for optimal effectiveness.
Contraindications for the bunion orthosis
- Do not use on a skin lesion.
- Do not use if the big toe is no longer laterally mobile.
- In cases of individuals with diabetes, arteritis, polyneuropathy, lower limb neuropathy, or varicose ulcers: consult your doctor or podiatrist, and monitor your foot during use.

How to maintain your orthosis?
The daytime bunion orthosis is machine washable at 30 °C or by hand (without scrubbing) with water and soap. No bleaching. No ironing or steam. No tumble drying. No dry cleaning. Discard and replace the device as soon as cracks appear in the gel or degradation of the fabric or seams.

Can the soft bunion orthosis be worn at night?
The EPITACT® daytime bunion orthosis is specially designed to fit the foot in the shoe and act during the day while walking. At night, it is preferable to wear the bunion splint which will be more effective and comfortable during sleep.
How to choose the right size?
Using a measuring tape, measure the circumference of your foot just before the "bunion". Then refer to the size guide available at the bottom of the page. If you are unsure between two sizes, prefer the smaller one.
Is this orthosis compatible with wearing orthopedic insoles?
If you are already wearing orthopedic insoles, consult your doctor or podiatrist. Depending on the reason for which the insoles are prescribed, combining a corrective orthosis for the bunion may pose a risk of "over-correcting" the deformity.
Is it normal for the gel pad not to fall on the bunion?
Yes, the silicone gel pad should be placed before the bunion because its role is twofold: it prevents the orthosis from sliding forward and pushes back the first metatarsal.
