Indications for ankle protectors for skiing
No more ankle pain ruining your activities… Enjoy fully and stay performing thanks to EPITACT® ankle protectors!
EPITACT® ankle protectors prevent and relieve warmth and pain on the ankles at pressure points in high-top shoes.
They are therefore very effective in shoes used for sliding sports (skiing, snowboarding, hockey, rollerblading, skating, mountaineering…).
How do they work?
Their effectiveness relies on EPITELIUMTACT 04, a cushioning silicone gel with excellent capabilities to reduce friction and pressure on the skin.
Self-adhesive, it ensures optimal hold of the protectors throughout the activity. These ankle protectors are very thin (2 mm); they cause no discomfort and are forgotten in all types of high-top shoes.
Usage tips for ankle protectors
- Use the ankle protectors on clean, dry skin.
- You can remove and reposition them without restriction.
- Preferably, pull a sock over them.
- After use, place the protectors in the designated storage case and keep them in the metallic pouch until the next use.
Contraindications
- Do not use silicone ankle protectors on a skin lesion.
- In cases of individuals with diabetes, arteritis, polyneuropathy, lower limb neuropathy, or varicose ulcers: consult your doctor or podiatrist, and monitor your foot during use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do some shoes cause pain in the ankles?
Ankle pain often occurs in high-top shoes that have a rigid shell on the outside (ski boots, rollerblades, skates…). This type of shoe can cause painful pressure against the bony protrusions on the sides and top of the ankle (ankles, scaphoids), especially if the bindings are too tight or if the shoe size is too small or too large.
How many times can the ski ankle protectors be washed and reused?
The silicone ankle protectors can withstand about thirty washes without their properties being altered. It is recommended to wash them after each use to maintain their self-adhesive power by removing any dust and impurities. By cleaning their surface, you restore their initial sticky properties.
Can sports ankle protectors cause allergies?
Gels used directly on the skin must have total biocompatibility. EPITACT® gels are medical grade to minimize the risk of skin intolerance. Furthermore, the ski ankle protectors are made from silicone, and allergies to this material are extremely rare.
