Indications for shin guards for skiing
Do shin pains hinder your performance during your sports sessions? Try the EPITACT® ski shin guards!
These shin guards prevent and relieve warmth and pain on the shins in the pressure areas of high-top shoes.
They are therefore very effective in shoes used for sliding sports (skiing, snowboarding, hockey, rollerblading, skating, mountaineering…).
How do they work?
The effectiveness of the shin guards relies on EPITELIUMTACT 03, a cushioning silicone gel designed to reduce friction and pressure on the skin.
Self-adhesive, it ensures optimal hold of the guards throughout the activity. These shin guards are very thin (2 mm); they cause no discomfort and are forgotten in all types of high-top shoes.
Usage tips for silicone shin guards
- Use the shin guards on clean, dry skin.
- You can remove and reposition them without restriction.
- Preferably, pull a sock over them.
- After use, place the guards in the designated storage case and keep them in the metallic pouch until the next use.
Contraindications
- Do not use silicone shin guards on a skin lesion.
- In cases of individuals with diabetes, arteritis, lower limb neuropathy, or varicose ulcers: consult your doctor or podiatrist, and monitor your foot during use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do some shoes cause shin pain?
Shin pain often occurs in high-top shoes that have a rigid shell on the outside (ski boots, snow boots, rollerblades, skates…). This type of sport requires repeated knee bends that exert strong pressure on the shins, further exacerbated by overly tight bindings or shoes that are too small or too large.
How many times can ski shin guards be washed and reused?
The ski shin guards can withstand about thirty washes without their properties being altered. It is recommended to wash them after each use to maintain their self-adhesive power by removing any dust and impurities. By cleaning their surface, you restore their initial sticky properties.
Can they have other uses?
Yes, silicone shin guards can be used, for example, while hiking to relieve warmth on the shoulders caused by backpack straps.
