The use of the shortystrap is recommended for the following conditions:
- Pain syndrome in the inguinal-pubic region: Pubalgia
- Hip pain global
- Pain / Adductor Tendinopathy
To be used at the first signs of pain, its immediate effectiveness is proven by scientific studies “Reduces pain in 95% of cases or eliminates it from the first use” (see detailed studies below). It is suitable for the musculature of all athletes (including high-level athletes).
⚠️ The wearing of the Shortystrap is recommended as a complement to therapeutic follow-up (physiotherapy, osteopathy, others…) to heal from pubalgia. Without this therapeutic follow-up, the use of the Shortystrap will not be optimal.
⚠️ The Shortystrap must be worn directly over your underwear to avoid compromising its effectiveness (do not wear the Shortystrap over or under clothing). If you engage in your sports activities in mid-length shorts or tights (long), please opt in these cases for a Shortystrap Corsaire or a Shortystrap Long.
Functioning and wearing of the Shortystrap
The set of elastic straps helps to reduce tension on the adductor muscles of the lower limbs. This relief allows for a relative rest of the adductor muscles and the pubic region.
The effect of bringing the two legs together is essential, as it greatly contributes to the effectiveness of the Shortystrap. This effect is immediate, the compressive short Shortystrap will be positioned to ensure tension on the elastic straps (as low as possible towards the knees and as high as possible towards the navel).
We propose an initial protocol of systematic wearing during sports practice until the pain can disappear, then 1 to 2 times/week for preventive purposes thereafter. The decision on the frequency of wearing the Shortystrap can be made in collaboration with your doctor or physiotherapist.
Choosing the size of your Shortystrap
Your Shortystrap will be effective if its size is suitable for your measurements, take the time to accurately measure your various measurements as explained in the size guide to determine the size that suits you.
The effectiveness of the Shortystrap proven: scientific studies
Some excerpts from these studies:
-
"We conclude that the Shortystrap is fully recommended for football players suffering from pubalgia and experiencing pain during sports practice. We also believe that its use as an adjunct to returning to sports is an interesting point to raise. ""This study shows us that the Shortystrap will allow players to continue training, but especially competition without altering their performance. In the amateur world, but especially professional, an injured player is a player who is useless to the team, and the Shortystrap will avoid this problem since, according to statistical tests, players are able to achieve the same performances with and without the shortystrap. The Shortystrap is therefore a very useful tool for footballers, as it allows them to maintain an optimal level of performance despite adductor pain. It should not be forgotten that the size of the Shortystrap is important and that a size too large will not be effective, and a size too small will lead to more muscle strengthening of the adductors. To achieve the desired result from wearing the Shortystrap, it is necessary to take the necessary and accurate anthropometric measurements."The Impact of muscle strengthening on the adductors and abductors with the Shortystrap on specific tests in football LEFEBVRE Alexis. 2016"We can say that the ShortyStrap combined with muscle strengthening does not increase the performance of football players. The ShortyStrap therefore allows one to maintain their physical abilities during practice."Pubalgia, Influence of the coupling of Shortystrap and Orthotic Insoles in improving therapeutic management CHICOINE Jérémy - 2017"The results of this study show that devices applied to patients with pubalgia have a positive effect on pain (SHORTYSTRAP + Orthotic Insoles), and that the combination of the two would have a more interesting impact in treating the condition more quickly, which would be an interesting advantage for the athlete as it is a condition that is normally long and difficult to manage."
