Patented technology
Combined with an ultrafine elastic fabric, the patented EPITHELIUM FLEX™ silicone tendon applies sufficient lateral traction on the big toe to straighten it.
Usage advice
- Check that your toe is still laterally mobile.
- Wash the splint before first use.
- The correction level is adjustable by tightening the tendon on your foot: on the first day, do not try to correct the big toe. Then, over 10 days, gradually correct the deviation by pulling the device backward.
- The device should be worn daily for optimal effectiveness.
Contraindications for the hallux valgus splint
- Do not use on a skin lesion.
- Do not use if the big toe is no longer laterally mobile.
- For people with diabetes, arteritis, polyneuritis, neuropathy of the lower limbs, or varicose ulcers: consult your doctor or podiatrist, then monitor your foot during use.

How to care for your splint?
The daytime hallux valgus splint is machine washable at 30 °C or hand washable (without rubbing) with water and soap. No bleaching. No ironing or steaming. No tumble drying. No dry cleaning. Discard and replace the device as soon as cracks appear in the gel or if the fabric or seams deteriorate.

Can the flexible hallux valgus splint be worn at night?
The EPITACT® daytime hallux valgus splint is specially designed to fit the foot inside the shoe and work during walking in the day. At night, it is better to wear the hallux valgus brace, which will be more effective and comfortable during sleep.
How to choose the right size?
Using a tape measure, measure the circumference of your foot just before the "bunion." Then refer to the size guide at the bottom of the page. If you hesitate between two sizes, choose the smaller one.
Is this splint compatible with wearing orthopedic insoles?
If you already wear orthopedic insoles, consult your doctor or podiatrist. Depending on why the insoles were prescribed, combining a corrective splint for hallux valgus may risk "overcorrecting" the deformity.
Is it normal that the gel pad does not sit directly on the bunion?
Yes, the silicone gel pad should be placed before the bunion because its dual role is to prevent the splint from sliding forward and to push back the first metatarsal.
