Hallux valgus protector that relieves daily pain on the "bunion" in the shoe.

Indications for the EPITACT® hallux valgus protector

Do you suffer from a painful "bunion" on your foot in your shoes that bothers you when walking?

The hallux valgus protector prevents and relieves pain caused by pressure and excessive friction on the "bunion" while walking. It is especially recommended for advanced hallux valgus, when the big toe is no longer laterally mobile.

The EPITHELIUM 26® silicone gel patent

The patented EPITHELIUM 26® silicone gel is an EPITACT® exclusive. Thanks to tests conducted in a specialized laboratory, its pressure distribution properties have been validated and its thickness optimized to create minimal bulk inside the shoe.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is hallux valgus?

Hallux valgus is a deformity of the big toe. The toe tilts inward while the first metatarsal bone deviates outward. Gradually, the end of this bone called the metatarsal head protrudes on the side of the foot, forming a bony bump called the "bunion." Hallux valgus is an irreversible deformity; it cannot disappear over time.

How to choose the right size?

The size choice for a silicone hallux valgus protector is based on your shoe size. Refer to the size guide at the bottom of the page. If you hesitate between two sizes, choose the smaller one.

When to use the silicone hallux valgus protector?

The hallux valgus protector can be worn at all stages of the condition but is especially recommended for advanced stages, when the joint at the base of the big toe is ankylosed. The deformity can then be protected but can no longer be mechanically corrected. For early to moderate stages, there are soft corrective orthoses that realign the big toe during walking or rigid corrective orthoses that limit the progression of hallux valgus at night.
