Indications for sports blister patches
The EPITACT® blister patches effectively protect the skin from friction (blisters, chafing, redness, irritations, burns…) to maintain performance during sports activities. They can be used to prevent the formation of a blister or to immediately relieve an already formed but unbroken blister.
These protections are used on the feet or any other area of the body subjected to friction (at a seam, skin-to-skin irritation, chafing with walking sticks, with a backpack, friction of the shoe against the heel, under the arch of the foot…).
How do they work?
The foot blister patches are made from EPITHELIUMTACT 01, a silicone gel that is an excellent friction inhibitor and pressure distributor. It also has a strong self-adhesive power that ensures the patches stay well on the skin.

The foot blister patches have been tested and validated on a diabetic population.
Usage advice for foot blister patches
- Use the patches on clean, dry skin.
- After use, remove and dispose of the adhesive and place the protection in the designated storage case and keep it in the metallic pouch until the next use.
Contraindications
- Do not use blister patches on a skin lesion.
- In cases of individuals with diabetes, arteritis, polyneuropathy, lower limb neuropathy, or varicose ulcers: consult your doctor or podiatrist, and monitor your foot during use.

How to maintain your patches?
The foot blister patches are hand washable (without scrubbing) with water and soap. Allow to air dry. Discard and replace the device as soon as cracks appear in the gel or the fabric degrades.

What is the difference with hydrocolloid dressings?
Hydrocolloid dressings are dressings whose material swells in the presence of water and forms a gel. In this case, this type of dressing is normally used on a weeping wound: the protective gel forms thanks to the lymph it exudes. As for the EPITACT® foot blister patches, the gel is already formed and protects the skin from friction to prevent a blister from forming or to prevent it from bursting.
How many times can the sports blister protections be washed and reused?
The sports blister patches can be washed 4 to 5 times on average. It is recommended to wash them after use to maintain their self-adhesive power by removing dust and impurities. By cleaning their surface, you restore their initial sticky properties.
How to use the retaining adhesives?
The sports blister protections come with 12 retaining adhesives. Once the patch is applied to the skin, position an adhesive over it. This ensures optimal hold of the patch, even under intense sports conditions (humidity, cold, heat, repeated movements…). Unlike the washable protection, the adhesives are for single use.
